Each week students will be asked to watch six hours of “performance” (loosely defined) created since the onset of COVID-19. Students will then comment on how the material they have viewed both innovates the formal aesthetics of theater AND engages in current politics. These viewing logs should be uploaded here each week!
In addition to viewing a myriad of performances, students should also pick a performance to nominate, one that most exemplifies a break from theatrical norms and is politically engaged. For this performance, students should write a 3-5 paragraph rationale and propose 3 keywords to describe the re-imagined aesthetics.
