Since March, Opera Philadelphia has found numerous ways to engage their audiences at home. The first initiative, Digital Festival O, saw Opera Philadelphia releasing full-length archival footage of their most recent performances for free on Youtube including pre-show talks! While many of these “premiered” online in May, a few are still available to view.
Many of their teaching artists have also created a video series called Opera in a Trunk which breaks down the various aspects of an opera production to demystify opera for younger audiences.
Opera Philadelphia has also committed to streaming their entire 2020/2021 season online through a dedicated streaming app available both on mobile devices, computers and Smart Tvs.
